There’s a better way to collaborate, and that’s why we’re excited to announce the first of this year’s Q4 product updates – a new Teams feature that will add visibility and access to your data dashboard for all project members.
Simply add team members to your Estated account through the developer’s dashboard. They will be prompted to create their own login and given access to the company’s custom API key to not only make calls but view your data usage and performance reports.
Now you don’t have to worry about knowing where to find your colleague's login creds before her next vacation in order to make sure your project takes off on time – and stays on track.
Why Estated Teams?
If you’re an Estated user, you’ve already used our lightweight developer’s dashboard to access your API key, documentation, performance and usage data, billing and support, and the Estated single-property lookup tool – all in one convenient place. With Estated Teams you’re able to share the dashboard features that help your team better manage and understand the data being used in your product, project or service while limiting account settings and payment management to a single user.
Who should I add to my team?
Though our dashboard is designed to be accessible to users with a broad range of technical skills, it’s helpful to add Product Managers, Data Scientists or Software Engineers who are on your project. They can test the data and find answers to common questions in the dashboard in preparation for your implementation.
How many people can I add?
We have no limits on the number of people working on your project, so you can loop the right people in at anytime. Whether your project lasts 2 months or 2 years, add and remove people as their involvement changes.
What sort of permissions can I set as the account owner?
Each team member can make API calls using the primary account’s API key. They can access all features in the dashboard except for: your account, billing and settings. Only the account owner who created the team can manage team members.
Do I have to sign up for Estated Teams?
Nope. This feature comes automatically with all subscription plan tiers as well as free trial accounts. When you login to your dashboard you’ll see the Team tab on the left, which you can use to add team members. Team members must be added through an existing dashboard and create their own login to access the primary Estated user account dashboard and API key.
How do I get started with Estated Teams?
Follow the three simple steps outlined below.
Step 1: Create your teamFrom within the developer dashboard, click on Team in the sidebar. This will prompt a popup asking if you’d like to create a team. Only users who do not currently belong to a team are able to do this.
Step 2: Invite team members
The team owner adds new team members by clicking on the button under Teams in the sidebar and entering the new member's name and email address.
You will see confirmation that your teammate has been added.
The invited team member will receive an email prompting them to create an account.
Step 3: Manage team members
From here, the team owner can add and remove users, or edit information.
Now, with your team setup in the Estated dashboard, you’ll streamline communications, avoid managing duplicate accounts and align all team members invested in creating awesome products and services using Estated’s property data API.
